Simple Tools

There are tools and programs from communities which consider themselves elitist. They are producing programs, which are simple but hard to learn for new users and/or they are not welcoming to new or all users. Examples are:

• You have to change the source code for configuration
• You have to learn a lot of (often unusual) key bindings or a strange configuration format to use the tool
• Your questions are answered very rude, they make fun of you or make you feel not welcome in other ways
• Remarks or hints, that some behavior of the program is not what you expected are answered in a rude manner or you got banned
• The community demonstrate other toxic behavior, such as insults, discrimination or not protecting you from discrimination
